J-Ville Crab Shack Reviews

In my opinion, the food here is always affordably priced. Other seafood shops are hiking up the price for ambiance. Sometimes you just want legs and maybe two corns. Maybe this is a low key spot, but it's efficient everytime. Neighbourhood is a little sketch, but worth the ride. A hurst was leaving as I arrived. So I hope the driver was fuling up and made a stop before the funeral lol. I hope no one was in the back. I was able to order online and I appreciate that it was ready when I arrived. They seemed confused though as to how I paid. I showed them my PayPal receipt. Going back again $$ 5/5

I love coming here, the owner and his wife are always so nice and the food is always fresh, hot and taste delicious! Definitely my go-to spot when I'm in Jax!

I ordered the garlic crabs with eggs, mild sauce and they offered to warm them up. Which was great so I wouldn't have to clean my microwave! The crabs were very meaty and the sauce was delicious. Probably the best sauce in Jacksonville I must say. I will definitely be back.

Yumma! Every single time I'm in Florida, I HAVE to get garlic crabs. Was in Florida for less than 48 hours and after landing at JAX airport I made a beeline to J-Ville Crab Shack. Service was super quick. For $30 flat, I got the J-Ville special -- garlic crabs, shrimp, sausage, corn, potato, and an egg, and lots of buttery garlic sauce. The sauce isn't real butter-- it didn't congeal after being refrigerated for a whole day-- but it was still super tasty. I got my garlic crab fix!

Don't judge a book by it's cover. There are no frills or fanfare inviting you to patronize this establishment but the food makes up for the lack of bells and whistles. The menu is plentiful with seafood provided a variety of ways: hot, cold and fried. For just over $30 I got a JVille Special and Black Mussels and the way it was prepared.... absolutely delicious! I've never had garlic crab before and I'm a crab lover from Northern VA/ Washington DC area but I don't know if I could ever enjoy crabs any other way again. ***Don't forget to ask for special sauce and get it spicy (we ordered medium, but we could have taken it up a notch). The person who served us, M**** was very hospitable too. You must go to this place!

While on a mini vacation the hotel front desk woman recommended this place. The neighborhood wasn't the best and upon walking in there was definitely a smell. The place was packed and busy. You could buy raw seafood on one side and the cooked food on the other. I ordered the small crab combo and my partner ordered the shrimp combo. It was so much food! Delicious every bite. The only downside is no napkins for the garlic butter sauce dripping off your fingers.

My wife loves this place. We came up from Charleston and they give u so much for the money. We will return again

Delicious!! I'm out here from Los Angeles for my birthday and after reading a few reviews I decided to go get some 'Garlic Crabs' with my sister. We have a place called the boiling crab back home that is similar... but Baby when I tell you this food is seasoned to a T. It's really really good & the boiled egg is a good touch. The only issue I had is that about an hour later my stomach started hurting really really bad... I'm still on my way there now but I'm going to just pray my stomach doesn't hurt later on.

Wow is all I can say! Great seafood good price! I will be back! Butter garlic shrimp, crab legs, fried talapia ...yum!

Moe and Mark were amazing. For some one who doesn't buy seafood often they made the experience comfortable and the prices affordable.
